Welcome to the 4th Radlett Scout Group website where you can find news and information for each of our Sections...Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.... We are a predominantly Jewish Group, meeting at and supported by Radlett & Bushey Reform Synagogue.

Arrangements for Winter Camp

As you know, the Cubs and Scouts are going to Thriftwood Camp site for their annual winter camp this year.

We will be meeting in the car park of Radlett Recreation Ground, off Gills Hill, at 17:30 on Friday 10th February 2012. Cubs and Scouts should be in uniform and the leaders (with some parental help) will be taking them to the campsite.

We would like some parents to help take them, if you are able to do this, please e-mail Paul and he will let you know if you are needed.

Children should be collected from the campsite on Monday 13th February 2012 at 15:30. The address and telephone number is below, please click here for directions to the campsite.

A suggested kit list can be accessed here, please bear in mind that it is February, so the children will need lots of warm and waterproof clothing as well as a coat, hat, scarf and gloves.

Any vegetarian, nut free cakes (especially home made) for refreshments that the Cubs and Scouts can bring for the camp would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact any of the leaders.

Scouting Welcomes Royal Volunteer

duchessHRH The Duchess of Cambridge has become Scouting's newest volunteer and will help at local cub packs and beaver colonies, Clarence House has announced.

The Duchess, who joins 66,000 girls and 40,000 female leaders in Scouting, will help out at groups close to where she lives. Her Royal Highness also hopes to help with activities in other parts of the United Kingdom as opportunity arises.

Flexible volunteering
The announcement comes as a great endorsement of Scouting's commitment to allow adults to volunteer their time on a flexible basis. The Duchess will help run a variety of activities relevant to her skills and interests. This could include running games, teaching first aid or cooking on campfires.

Chief Scout Bear Grylls gave a delighted reaction to the news: 'The Duchess has an incredibly busy life, which makes it all the more inspiring that she has chosen to volunteer alongside us.

'Over the last few years it has been our mission to make it easier for adults who volunteer with us to give as much or as little as they are able – it is how we change our society: many people doing a little bit.'

On the Waiting List?

If you want to guarantee your child[ren] a place in our group please contact us as soon as possible. Beavers and Cubs are currently full, but if your child is not yet 6 years old and you are interested, then it is worth getting their names on the waiting list now.
